A mountain town with a very un-mountain-town problem: seasonal traffic spikes
Revelstoke's economy runs in bursts — ski season, summer tourism, the quieter shoulder months in between. Whatever IT setup got you through last winter is worth a second look before this one hits, especially if your point-of-sale or guest WiFi struggled under the load.
It's a genuine drive from our Kamloops office — about two and a half hours through the Selkirks along the Trans-Canada — so we lean remote-first here and plan onsite trips around it, including winter road conditions.
What that looks like

FAQ
Q:Revelstoke gets a huge seasonal swing between winter and summer tourism. Can IT support flex with that?
It should, and we plan for it. Point-of-sale systems, guest WiFi, and staff accounts all take more traffic in ski season — the worst time to find out something's undersized is the first powder weekend, not before it. We'd rather stress-test that ahead of the rush.
Q:How do you handle support given the drive from Kamloops?
It's around two and a half hours along the Trans-Canada, through some genuinely mountain-pass driving. Day-to-day support is remote; onsite visits get scheduled, and winter road conditions are something we plan around rather than ignore.
Q:Mountain towns don't always have the best internet. Does that limit what you can do remotely?
It shapes the setup more than it limits it — we design backups and monitoring to work within whatever connectivity you've actually got, rather than assuming big-city bandwidth.
